LOGAN STAATS - (Six Nations of the Grand River) - 9:15-10:30 pm
Logan Staats is a Mohawk singer-songwriter whose career was jump-started when he won the music competition show The Launch in 2018. His single, “The Lucky Ones,” would top the Canadian charts and won the Indigenous Music Award for Best Radio Single. His music contains honest storytelling and reflection, drawing heavily from the rich blues and rock legacy of his home Six Nations.
MEGAN HAMILTON - (Kingston, ON) - 8:30-9:00 pm
Megan Hamilton is the true epitome of an indie musician. She’s recorded in town halls in rural Saskatchewan, as well as studios in Toronto, here in Kingston, and in Stittsville. Most recently, Hamilton completed a four-day writing and recording residency at the Kingston Grand Theatre in 2023. With five recordings to date, she is currently working on her sixth, which she describes as "a sort of love song to Kingston." She’s booked national tours for her band, played in some high-profile festivals like the local Wolfe Island Music Festival and the Skeleton Park Arts and Music Festival, and has been hand-picked to open up for international stars like My Morning Jacket, Royal Wood, Pink Mountaintops, and many, many others. Her music has been described as “[e]vocative after-hours songs delivered with smoke-and-whiskey vocals.” (Sarah Liss, CBC) and her independent spirit ensures the deep feelings aren’t smoothed out of the music with autotune.
