CJ WILEY
Toronto, ON

CJ Wiley is a dynamic non-binary singer-songwriter known for their gripping blend of slacker rock, country-tinged ballads, and grunge-influenced anthems. Their music explores themes of loss, gender, fresh starts, and the struggles of modern life, all delivered with urgency and authenticity. A fixture in Toronto’s queer music scene, Wiley has performed alongside artists like Tokyo Police Club and Shannon and the Clams while hosting the Big Gay Night concert series. Their sound fuses soulful Sheryl Crow Americana with the raw energy of Garbage and Hole.

MINT SIMON
Montreal, QC

Mint Simon is the solo project of the front person of indie-pop band, Caveboy. Born & raised in Montreal, Mint is a theatre kid, turned band lead, turned pop star living somewhere on the gender spectrum between Ferris Bueller & Prince. Their music is a sonic and lyrical exploration of love, missed opportunities, desire and sexual liberation. Mint is using this as a vehicle for self-discovery and expression, as they develop their unique musical sound as a solo act while sharing their journey of self-acceptance with captivating and effortlessly catchy emotional-pop tunes. They are unapologetically queer – a pop prince tapping into their 80s and 90s influences.

SPURS QUEER LINE DANCING
Montreal, QC

SPURS is a queer line dancing event based in the history of LGBTQ+ country dancing, combining traditional steps with a range of music from honky-tonk to contemporary pop. SPURS was created by Canadian-born actor Kathleen Munroe—after learning to line dance in LA and across the States, Munroe brought the spirit of queer cowboy culture home to Toronto and has since been joined by Nessie Nankivell, Meredith Shedden, and Veronique Beaudet. For Capital Pride, Mer and Ver will be walking you through a handful of their favourite beginner-friendly follow-along line dances—they’re so easy you can just hop right in!
