IN CONVERSATION WITH LOGAN STAATS

LOGAN STAATS:
Logan Staats is a Mohawk singer-songwriter whose career was jump-started when he won the music competition show The Launch in 2018. His single, “The Lucky Ones,” would top the Canadian charts and won the Indigenous Music Award for Best Radio Single. His music contains honest storytelling and reflection, drawing heavily from the rich blues and rock legacy of his home Six Nations.

MARIAH (MO) HORNER:
Mariah (Mo) Horner is a theatre artist, backup singer, and Ph.D. candidate at Queen’s University. Her dissertation examines how theatre can rehearse and manifest a world without police and prisons. She is the co-author of Play: Dramaturgies of Participation (Playwrights Canada Press). She was a Festival Director of both CFRC Shortwave Radio Theatre Festival (2020-2022) and the Storefront Fringe Festival (2017-18) in Kingston and has co-created sixteen site-specific plays in Kingston and in Ottawa. She was a 2022 recipient of the Mayor's Arts Award in Kingston, Ontario and she currently sings with Kingston-based supergroup The Gertrudes. She is a queer settler in Katarowki, a music teacher, a new gardener, and a lifelong learner.
